What is a Financial Social Worker?

During scheduled sessions, as a certified financial social worker, I help individuals explore their relationship with money by examining psychological, social, emotional, behavioral, environmental factors that have made an influence in one's life to better make conscious financial decisions that align with their goals.

How do Financial Social Workers Help Clients?

-We understand now how financial circumstances impact clients physically, emotionally, mentally, psychologically, and socially.

- We are willing to have uncomfortable conversations about money by creating a safe and nonjudgmental, confidential space.

-We know the basics about money management and provide guided exercises that encourage clients to implement new behaviors and strategies that encourage a healthier relationship with money.

-We empower clients to take control of their money and gain control of their lives.

What makes financial social work coaching services different from psychotherapy?

Financial social work coaching services are for clients who want to improve their relationship with money by having specific goals related to their finances. As a coach, I don't treat or provide mental health diagnoses, mental health crisis support, work with clients with mental health safety concerns (suicidal/homicidal ideation) or health insurance providers. I am able to provide coaching services nationally.
